This video is one of my lectures on Bode Plot which is an important concept of frequency response in Control Systems Engineering. Bode plots are two graphs. The first is the magnitude plot and second is the phase or angle graph. We plot both of these graphs against the frequency of the system. Therefore it is sometimes called frequency response of the system. The video explains why are we interested in Bode Plot. In frequency response we are talking about the steady state of the system. It means that the transients has been died out. In other words the real term of the transfer function has been vanished and only the imaginary part is there. We therefore put s=jw. Whenever we apply a sinusoidal input or sine wave to a system, the output will also be sinusoidal and the frequency will stay the same at the output. This video also explains the mathematics of frequency response. This video also explains two methods of plotting a complex number. In Bode plot we get two graphs. One graph is obtained by plotting 20logM vs Omega or the frequency. The other graph is obtained by plotting frequency omega vs the phase angle. Then you will learn how to plot Bode plot using Scilab software which is a free alternative to MATLAB.
