The Trump administration is pushing back against growing marijuana use by issuing an advisory that warns of the potential harm it can cause among children and pregnant women. Increase in access to marijuana and misperceptions about the drug “endanger our most precious resource, our nation’s youth,” Surgeon General Jerome Adams said at a news conference on Aug. 29, 2019. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said the advisory is being paid for by President Donald Trump’s second quarter salary, which he donated to the department.
