Jaali Akali leaders backstabbing SAD at instance of Congress – Sukhbir Badal

Jaali Akali leaders backstabbing SAD at instance of Congress – Sukhbir Badal Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the self styled Taksalis’ including mp Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa were backstabbing their mother party under a conspiracy in league with the Congress party but said the Akali cadre would not let these evil designs succeed at any cost.

Terming the self styled Taksalis’ as “Jaali” at a massive dharna which took on the shape of a rally, the SAD President said if Sukhdev Dhindsa enjoyed a name in politics it was solely because of the SAD. “The party made you what you are but it is unfortunate that when the time came to nurture new talent and give back to the party you decide to backstab it. The Sangrur rally on February two will serve as an eye opener for you (Dhindsa) ”, he added.

Indicating that Mr Dhindsa and other fake Akali leaders like Sewa Singh Sekhwan were self centered and could not think beyond themselves and their families, Mr Badal said Mr Dhindsa had been losing elections for the last 30 years. He said despite being nominated to the Rajya Sabha repeatedly Mr Dhindsa was not satisfied and even fought with S Parkash Singh Badal to get his son Parminder appointed as the Finance minister. “Dhindsa Sahab even forced Badal Sahab to secure a ticket for his son-in-law Tejinder Pal from Mohali even though he was a losing candidate”.

Stating that he had always given utmost respect to Mr Dhindsa, the SAD President said the mp should at least explain what wrong had been committed against him. He said similarly another fake Akali – Sewa Singh Sekhwan had lost all elections for thirty years except a byelection when the entire party campaigned for him. Asserting that these leaders could not appropriate the name Taksali for themselves, he said they were nothing but pawns of the Congress party. “Chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh is behind this conspiracy to prop up these leaders including Paramjit Sarna who is the Religious Advisor of the CM and Manjit GK who embezzled gurdwara funds worth Rs ten crores for which a case had been registered against him at the instance of the courts. The chief minister thinks he can befool Punjabis like he did last time on the issue of sacrilege by propping up these leaders to counter the SAD. However this time he will not succeed because people realize he has committed the biggest sacrilege by making false promises in the name of the Dasam Pitah”.

Meanwhle Mr Badal announced that the SAD would stage district level protests across the State in case the Congress government did not take action against Congress leaders including Gurpreet Kangar and Kushaldeep Dhillon who caused the death of the prime witness in the Behbal Kalan police firing case. He said former Sarpanch Surjit Singh’s wife had given repeated statements that her husband was pressurized by Kangar and Kushaldeep not to give witness against the police personnel who shot and killed innocent Sikhs at Behbal Kalan. “These pressure tactics accompanied by intimidation, power raids and gun fire shots were directly responsible for Surjit’s death”. He said the party would provide legal assistance to the family and would continue to agitate for an independent probe by a sitting judge of the high court into the incident.

Mr Badal said in the present Congress regime an additional burden of Rs 22,000 crore had been put on the common man in the form of hike in power tariff in the last three years. He said this hike was the result of government inefficiencies and corruption. He said while private thermal plants were supplying power to the government at less than Rs 3 per unit, the government was charging consumers at the rate of Rs ten per unit. “This is not all. The government also indulged in under hand deals with private thermal plants and gave them a benefit of Rs 4100 crore. This includes Rs 2700 crore on account of coal washing charges and Rs 1400 crore on account of an arbitration award which the government did not challenge”. He said the SAD had already exposed this scam and would now agitate to ensure punishment for those involved as well as force the government to take back inflated power bills being issued to consumers.

Mr Badal also advised chief minister Capt Amarinder not to lie to the people. He said the CM was saying that the State had given sixteen lakh jobs to the people where none had been given. He said employees were being denied Dearness Allowance of Rs 4,000 crore and even 27,000 contractual employees were not being regularized.
