God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord, the Lord is our portion, and as we seek Him, and His kingdom all of life's essentials will be added to us in abundance.

On top of all that, while we are seeking and waiting on the Lord, the Lord is good to us so we will receive His good and perfect gifts
These principles are based on who we put our hope in and on who we wait for. It clearly states that the Lord is the target. It doesn't say achievements, possessions, relationships, jobs, success or fill in the blank will be good to us or will save us. Of course these are good things and offer enjoyment but we shouldn't hope in them as the ultimate thing.

Hope in God
He is unchanging and the giver of all good and perfect gifts
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him.
