Bible for Business: Guard Yourself on Black Friday

Bible for Business: Guard Yourself on Black Friday "Then he said to them, 'Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.'"--Luke 12:15 I hate Black Friday because people, even Godly people, forget their goals and identities. You are a child of the Most High God, and He provides for you. Don't forget about that on this "holiday" that was designed by Mammon to manipulate people into spending frenzies, so that businesses can be in the "black" (meaning profitable) by year-end. This is not a true holiday. That word "holiday" comes from two other words: "holy day". This day is exactly the opposite, and you can tell by its fruit: attitudes, rushing here and there, riots, fights, even deaths! You are holy unto God. Remember your identity and demonstrate His character, no matter what. If you choose to shop, be intentional and purchase only those items that you decided beforehand to buy. Also, set a spending limit for yourself, so that you're not pressured into debt or an unfavorable financial situation. Couples, make sure you're in agreement before you go shopping, and don't break those agreements for anything. Bless God on today, and every day, by following the leading of His Spirit.
