The following error may appear after updating Windows 10: "C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or Internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted."
A small window appears in the startup bar with the message “Windows could not connect to the system”. The problem prevents a standard user from connecting to the system. As an administrator, you can read why the service does not respond in the system event log.
The error makes it so you cannot access anything on your desktop and this error can appear if you’re updating from an older version or doing a clean install. The error surfaces once you’ve gone through the entire update process. Here are two ways to fix the problem.
