This webinar will cover the basic details on the investigation steps including 3rd party experts and their role in the accident investigation. This webinar will also present some of the most critical information (from the electrical perspective) needed when performing a post-accident root cause investigation or expert investigation such as an arc flash or electric shock event.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand what to expect if an accident occurs at your facility from the investigation standpoint.
• Understand the steps of the investigation not only internally but also if an insurance claim or lawsuit is filed.
• Understand what information should be gathered and where initial efforts may best be placed immediately after an accident.
• Understand the relationships between all parties in an investigation and how to minimize risk.
• Understand the steps to potentially minimize risk if an accident were to occur.
Speaker: Jay Prigmore (M’2007) received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lamar University. He received his M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University. His Ph.D. research work was focused on novel concepts of fault current limiters for use in both legacy and future power electronic-based distribution systems. Dr. Prigmore is presently employed at Exponent, Inc. as a Managing Engineer in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department.
