Still Seeking Freedom: What Role Did Christianity Play In Keeping Africans Enslaved In America? As America commemorates the 400th anniversary of the first Africans forced to land in Virginia, it also promotes conversations about the ways the country justified slavery.

One of those ways was through Christianity. Most Africans were Muslims when they arrived and slave owners used Christianity to keep them enslaved.

Dr. Corey DB Walker, Visiting Professor at University of Richmond spoke with Roland Martin about the role Christianity played in keeping people of African Descent enslaved in the new world.
