SVS 2019: Why the proposed NICE guidelines are “not so nice”

SVS 2019: Why the proposed NICE guidelines are “not so nice” William Jordan (Atlanta, USA) talks to talks to Vascular News at the Society for Vascular Surgery’s Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM; 12–15 June 2019, National Harbor, USA) about the new draft NICE guidelines and why, in his words, they are “not so nice”.

Despite being evidence driven and having some “helpful information” the guidelines, according to Jordan, are “a little bit skewed too far away from endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for aortic aneurysms”. One of the challenges, he reports, is that “we do not have a very good understanding of which patients truly have a safer repair with EVAR”.
