Heidi Marston is the interim executive director of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, better known as LAHSA.

Marston said more low-income housing, more affordable housing and more emergency shelters are key resources needed to end homelessness in Inglewood and the Greater Los Angeles County.

Across LA County, homelessness rose 12% to 58,936 people in 2019.

That’s compared to 52,765 homeless people in 2018.

Interview was conducted on January 22, 2020 during the annual homeless count in Inglewood, California.

The annual count helps determine how LAHSA will design medical and mental health programs and allocate resources to fight homelessness in the city of Los Angeles and the a County of Los Angeles.
