I needed to make sure I stitch a woven piece very tightly across the warp ends, especially for use if using a hand-woven fabric for a larger sewing project. The stitch length of "1" is really for buttonholes, but it also is a stitch length marked on the dial separate from the buttonhole settings. I will continue to test, checking to see if "1" only makes buttonholes.
