‘India’s forest cover increased in last 2 years’: Prakash Javadekar Union Minister Prakash Javadekar released the released the India State of Forest Report on Monday. He said that India is one of the few nations whose forest cover increased by around 5,200 square kilometer in the last two years. He also said that India’s forest cover is 25% of its geographical area. He said that the states of Karnataka, Kerala Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh have witnessed an increase in forest cover.
