Changing careers is challenging.
Especially when there's re-training involved.
Getting a CDL license has a lot of moving parts.
First, you have to find a qualified truck driving school that is going to give you the best training for your dollar. And more important, are they going to support you after you get your license.
Second, you have to come up with both the money for tuition and the money to pay expenses while you're going to school for approximately 2 months. If you have a family, that could potentially be more challenging.
And many places have now implement MELT (Mandatory Entry Level Training.) This includes 110 hours of mandatory truck training.
Finally, there's getting an actual job after getting your license. As I tell students: start looking for work the very day you get your CDL learner's license.
