What if you woke up without a butt? Sure your jeans may fit different, and sitting down may be more uncomfortable, but would you be able to function as a human being. Chances are, no, since as a human being our ability to poop is pretty much invaluable. It takes 53 hours for your body to digest a meal from start to, ahem, finish, but once that time is up it’s important your body is able to expel the resulting waste product. Everyone poops, and everyone poops differently: whether it’s 3 small poops a day, or one big one every 2 days, the way you poop is up to you. When you start going a couple days without pooping though, problems can arise. Compacted poo that’s hard to push out, torn intestines that leak bacteria and fecal matter into your abdominal cavity, and potential heart attacks are just a few of the symptoms of severe constipation...and they’re among the most pleasant. That’s right, it gets worse. Don’t poop for long enough, and you may even begin to THROW UP fecal matter!
In this video, we’ll go through more of the symptoms of non-pooping, the reasons a person may stop pooping in the first place, and what you can do to get your bowel started if you find your ability to poop has diminished. Okay, we’ve said the word poop too many times already and it’s starting to look weird, so just go ahead and watch the video now please.
