Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Thule crossover duffle bag and backpack. The first thing I noticed about this bag is just the Thule name, so if you're not familiar, Thule is a very well known, very highly-regarded brand. Just having that name on there is going to make this a lot more valuable because you can trust that it's going to be a high quality product that's going to hold up, do a good job for you. It's been very thoughtfully created to make sure that it's going to meet your needs. The next thing that I noticed is how easy this is going to be to carry around, so we've got both the duffel bag handles here so we can easily grab this out of our cargo area ,or carry it along with us as we're walking around the airport or what have you, but then we also have these straps that will allow us to wear this as a backpack.Of course that's going to be much easier to carry this around if we've got other luggage that we need to wheel behind us, we can throw this on.

These are a breathable mesh strap, so it's going to be fairly comfortable. There's not a whole lot of padding here, so it's definitely not something that you'd want to wear all day long probably, and I'm a pretty big guy so I make a lot of things look small, but you can tell this is definitely not a giant backpack. It's probably more of a carry-on style than a large luggage bag.The total capacity, it's only about 40 liters. If I we're to have this fully packed to its maximum range, it would be right about 20 and 11/16 of an inch tall, about 15 and 3/16 of an inch wide and have a total depth of about one foot. But since I don't have that packed, I will be able to point out that we've got aluminum hardware that's going to be resistant to rust and corrosion and the material that this is made out of is water resistant, so it's going to be very lightweight and very durable.

It's going to be just under three pounds, so very easy to carry this around, get where you need to go and take along the items that you need to take with you.Put this down here and zoom in so you can see, we've got compression straps here that will allow us to tighten or loosen to the size of our load, so that we can make sure that everything is nice and secure in there but we can also loosen it up if we need more room. We've also got raised rails in here on the bottom. It's going to help keep our bag up out of any melting snow or anything just help protect our bag and our luggage. All the more, on the back side, we're going to have this rear zip panel. It's going to give us access to our internal components, two zippers there, open up and I said this isn't a very big bag, but it does have a lot of capacity to it.

So this is a big winter coat of mine and some heavy duty bib overalls. So these two things sit in there and it wasn't even at capacity. So I'm sure you could get several days worth of clothes depending on how heavy of a packer you are. Should be plenty of room for just about anything that you are doing. One thing that I really like here at the top, we've got another compartment. This is going to be a heat-molded crush proof safe zone. It will be a perfect place for your goggles or sunglasses, your portable electronics, anything like that that is fragile and you're wanting to protect.

This is very durable, so it's going to be like a hard shell, but this can be removed. So that's what's going to be protecting your glasses and those sort of things. But you can remove this so that you have even more capacity on the inside there if you don't have anything fragile that you're wanting to protect and take that out but I like having that option. I have a hard time. I break my sunglasses almost every time I wear them. So a feature like this is very nice and you can see it's got this locking tab here at the top on our zipper. We've got that little folder and when we get this closed, there's a loop. I'm not sure if you can see that very well. There's a little a fabric loop that we can put a lock through our zipper and that loop to make sure that our area there is going to be nice and secure so we don't have to worry about any of our more sensitive, fragile items or if we wanted to put some more security sensitive items like a wallet or a passport, whatever up there, we would have that lock to make sure that everything is nice and safe. Then on the sides, we're going to have these large gusseted side pockets on both sides. You can see they've got mesh here. That's going to allow us to separate our clean and di
