Could This End BMW?

Latest recall on a BMW impacts all of the M cars would suggest that the company is finished, by so-called social media experts.

The recall in question is less of a reliability concern and more of a proactive repair. There is a recall to repair a wiring harness that feeds the transmission that may have a tendency to short out, resulting in the 8 speed automatic ZF transmission to drop into neutral unexpectedly. Is this repair applicable to the F90 BMW M5 only? Or are there many models requiring this dangerous condition to be fixed.
