Dita Agusta, a 45-year-old cat lover from the small town of Parung in the southwestern suburb of South Jakarta, has adopted more than 250 of feral and abandoned cats.

Footage filmed on Thursday shows dozens of cats roaming around the back garden with Dita feeding and taking care of her felines.

The caring cat lady runs the Cat House together with her husband and five co-workers. "Five years ago my husband had an idea to buy this land and to build a house for cats and also for us," Dita Agusta said, adding "at that time I had already 30 cats and the previous place where we used to live was not fit for the cats any longer."

The cat house lives mostly on the donations from cat food producers, animal organisations and just cat lovers from around the town. "If I have to pay for the costs from my own pocket, I won't afford it because I have to spend 100 (€90) dollars per day," Dita continued.
