Solskajer handed Manchester derby boost with Martial set to return

Solskajer handed Manchester derby boost with Martial set to return Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to have Anthony Martial back for Saturday's Manchester derby but the game comes too soon for midfielder Paul Pogba.Speaking at his Friday press conference, the Manchester United boss Solskjaer said: 'We hope to have Anthony, definitely, for parts of the game. I'm not sure if he's able to start. 'Paul probably won't be, no. He's out on grass training. Hopefully we'll see him before the new year.'  Both players returning to fitness will be a welcome boost for Solskjaer ahead of a bumper fixture schedule in December.Pogba has been out of action since September 30 with an ankle problem and has made just six appearances during United's disappointing season, while Martial is returning from a knock suffered in the draw with Aston Villa last Sunday.United are sixth in the Premier League table, eight point shy of the Champions League spots and miles off the pace of runaway leaders Liverpool, but Solskjaer hopes that Wednesday's impressive win against Tottenham will provide a springboard for an upturn in form at Old Trafford.'Confidence is a strange thing in football sometimes,' Solskjaer said. 'You can get performances and results like we had on Wednesday night and it boosted us so much. 'I know our boys will be up for it. Energy-wise, we should be fine. Manchester derbies are always special, special games.'United head into the match with the defending Premier League champions in sixth place, eight points behind Chelsea in fourth.  Constantly updated with the latest information on Liverpool football team.
