NOTE FROM TED: As the speaker states, this talk is only representative of her personal understanding of the body and mental health. Claims made in this talk are not based on sufficient peer-reviewed scientific evidence. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give organizers are described in more detail here: Our body is the house in which we live our whole lives. Unfortunately, there is more and more a breakdown between the body and mind, as well as a disconnection from one's own body. A modern human ignores the subtle signals it receives from one's body, and it devotes to it only when pain, crisis or disease occurs.
By neglecting the culture of contact with the body, listening to the messages we receive from it, and respecting the limitations, we get the opportunity to be in a state of heightened awareness. To live from a place of personal power: linked to your life energy, sexuality, creativity and sense of meaning. Hana Stamatović is an expert in the Open Floor Methodology, with a masters degree in psychology and psychotherapy. For more than a decade she runs the group and works with individuals, integrating into her approach the practice of studying the relationship between the body and the mind. Her psychotherapy work, as well as the workshops she is leading, are inspired by these teachings.
