Amid onion shortage, FM Nirmala Sitharaman says she doesn't eat much of it The debate in Lok Sabha on skyrocketing prices of onion also saw some lighter moments. One such moment was when finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said she doesn't eat much onion. While Sitharaman was answering a question by NCP's Supriya Sule about the low production of the bulb, an MP asked the FM if she ate onion. It was then that Sitharaman said she comes from a family that doesn't eat much onion.
