In PriZhm, you control one of three characters which each have their own element. You can graze certain like-colors of your character to build your Element bar, which will power up your weapons while you have Element in stock. The combo bar increases with damage to enemies over time, and acts as a multiplier while Element is active. Lots of enemies will drop gems, which act as points and/or Element build up for like-colored gems. Since the enemies each drop a particular color, each character technically has different scoring routes. This is not perfectly balanced however, as Yellow compared to Red and Blue is dealt an unfair hand with some enemies shooting yellow patterns that will annihilate the player choosing the Yellow character (i.e. stage 3 and 5 bosses).
The crazy thing about this game is that if your element reaches maximum, your character will self-destruct. This means you can't graze too much or pick up gems of your elemental if the Elemental bar is too high. I think this is a bit unnecessary and adds a layer of frustration to playing the game. Doing a laser bomb will expend a little power and build Element continuously until you let go of shot, and if you try bombing again too quickly or never let go of fire, you will kill yourself. It is a strange little game, but I think it is the better game made by Rezetia compared to Pladzma and Zillion Beatz.
