DC Bait Readers By Having Catwoman Cheat On Batman With Nightwing in February

DC Comics is celebrating Valentine’s Day this year in the most outrageous way possible: by having Catwoman cheat on Batman with Nightwing in a comic book special hosted by a character with such a racist history it forced DC Comics to cancel their Detective Comics Before Batman collection. That’s right, for just $9.99 this February, you can witness the return of Slam Bradley in DC Crimes of Passion, an 80-page prestige one-shot that celebrates the season of love by having people murder their loved ones. James Tynion IV, Steve Orlando, Sina Grace, Jay Baruchel, Stephanie Phillips, Greg Smallwood, Riley Rossmo, Andie Tong, Mike Norton, Anthony Spay, and Yasmine Putri are amongst the creators that will be involved in this comic, but the best part is the cover, which appears to feature Batman discovering Catwoman cheating on him with Nightwing. And by the looks of it, Batman isn’t a fan of the cuck stuff. Unlike Superman.

EXCLUSIVE: DC's Crimes of Passion Gets Romantic For Valentine's Day

With another Valentine's Day fast approaching, it's time for a new DC Comics anthology to deliver readers tales of romance, betrayal, intrigue, and emotion -- all starring the beloved heroes of DC's Universe. Now fans can mark their calendars for the arrival of DC's Crimes of Passion this February.

DC is giving fans a somewhat more relatable dose of drama, putting the spotlight on the romantic entanglements of of the street level DC heroes: Batman, Nightwing, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Slam Bradley, and more. Screen Rant has the exclusive reveal ahead of DC's February solicitations, with the talent assembled and first look at the (highly controversial?) cover art.

This Valentine's Day special one-shot will arrive on February 5th just in time for the holiday, bringing readers 10 tales told across 80 pages. The anthology will be calling upon current DC writers like Batman's James Tynion IV, Wonder Woman and Gotham City Monsters' Steve Orlando, The Infected: King Shazam's Sina Grace, as well as Stephanie Phillips (Butcher of Paris), and more. There are always a few special guests as well, with actor and writer Jay Baruchel (This is The End, How to Train Your Dragon) spinning a story starring DC's greatest will they/won't they of all time, Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon.

The cover art is guaranteed to raise eyebrows -- not that any Catwoman fan would hold seducing Nightwing against her (pun absolutely intended). But fans need not worry about Crimes of Passion injecting bombshells relationships or romantic entanglements into the ongoing DC continuity. Lucky for Batman, these books are purely to get the romantic and sentimental juices flowing.
