In this video, I have a review of Brewdog 500 Cuts Spiced Rum. Brewdog famous for their Beer (Punk IPA) and their Bars. They’re also building quite a portfolio of Spirits including their lovely Lone Wolf Gins. Their First Rum though is slightly different to the normal though. Created in the style of Gin with “Botanicals”, oh yeah and they actually Distil their own Rum on site in Aberdeen too. Brewdog are definitely pushing the boundaries. I warn you though, this Rum isn’t for the faint hearted. It’s full of a lot of Christmasy Spice! It’s Liquid Christmas Cake!
As far as mixing it goes, My favourite serve is with Fever Tree Spiced Ginger Ale. I think that works the best. Closely followed by Franklin & Sons Ginger Beer. Coca Cola was good too. Not my favourite Spiced Rum and Coke because of the Spice. But it works. Avoid the fruitier Mixers though. I personally didn’t like Fentimans Tropical Soda, or Ting.
