WATCH: Trump says his conversations with foreign leaders are ‘always appropriate’ President Donald Trump defended his conversation with a foreign leader that's drawn criticism this week after a whistleblower complained to the inspector general's office. Which country the leader in question was from, and when the conversation happened, has not been disclosed, although the New York Times and the Washington Post have cited anonymous sources saying the country is Ukraine. Trump said his conversations are “always appropriate.” "Anything I do, I fight for this country,” Trump said, speaking in the Oval Office during a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. “It’s just another political hack job.” Trump also announced the U.S. is imposing new sanctions on Iran after a drone attack struck a Saudi oil facility earlier in September.
