Solaredge 2Kw outperforms Solis 3.6Kw .... at times

Solaredge 2Kw outperforms Solis 3.6Kw .... at times Having just Installed a 2nd independent solar array at home I'm of course going to compare the arrays .

3.9kwp 14x280w Vs 2.4 kwp 8x300w
3.6kw Solis 4g mini inverter Vs
2kw Solaredge SE 2000

The Solaredge comes with inbuilt optimisation. A seperate module that connects between the panels and inverter. The module supports 4 inputs and each can have 2 panels attached thus this little inverter is is ideal for a 4-8 panel installation.
Each two panels are tracked and optimised independent of the others this achieving higher generation in the event of changing light/shade.

Both configurations are on the same roof with same orientation and same angle the only difference being a few meters further up the roof. Ideal for a side by side comparison.

At first light the Solis fires into life first with the Solaredge performing quite poorly in very low light conditions. The Solis can be producing 40w whilst the Solaredge is at zero.

On dull days comparable generation is around 50 to 55%, as spot on the inverter power difference. 2kw Vs 3.6kw.

On brighter days the Solaredge array is performing at 65-69% against the Solis system. Well above the 61% difference between the total panel capacity 2.4kw Vs 3.9kw.

Early morning low sunshine at around 9am has seen the Solaredge array generate more power, not just comparatively bit more than the Solis with 3.9kw of panels.

I'm guessing with these characteristics the sunny the weather the better the performance, dull winter days aren't so well optimized.

In this video I also walk through the the electrical equipment installed.
