Learn to crochet surface slip stitches. This technique allows you to slip stitch across the surface of a piece of crochet fabric, much like embroidery. You can use this technique to add to color, to write words, to make geometrical designs, to make plaid...so many things you can do with this! I have one published design using this technique.
