Bob Hope Christmas Special: Around The World With The USO - 1.19.1966

Bob Hope Christmas Special: Around The World With The USO - 1.19.1966 Bob Hope and TV were the perfect couple. His comedy and Christmas specials for NBC spanned five decades, from President Truman to Clinton. But it was Bob's lifelong dedication to America's troops that made him especially beloved.

Bob spent nearly half of his 100 Christmases heading up USO shows as a globetrotting Santa Claus with a gold club, a sackful of jokes, and an airplane filled with stars.

They performed on battleships and battlefields, sometimes accompanied by the sound of fighter jets overhead. Hope's missions were often dangerous, his schedule brutal, yet he never failed to leave his audiences laughing all the way. For thousands of servicemen and women far from home, there was no one like Hope for the holidays.
