ABC News backs feminine hygiene product-makers showing menstrual blood in advertisements. This is ‘news” apparently. What shame are they talking about exactly? Do any of these people really believe that the public’s reaction to an advertisement showing what toilet paper is actually used for would be any different? And does anyone truly believe that the advertisers of Libra products were doing little more than courting controversy for mere publicity here - publicity that our publicly-funded broadcaster was happy to help provide them?
Just listen to the nonsense being peddled by ABC ‘reporter’ Mary Lloyd at 1:36 who takes issue with the label “feminine hygiene products” - “with the implication being that periods are dirty” ... so what, making sure that you’re not soaked in body fluids isn’t conducive to hygiene then? And if these products aren't for hygiene and menstrual blood is not a problem, then why sell them at all? Maybe next she’ll be demanding that toilet paper be renamed to reflect what it’s literally used for, but given that this can’t be used in the ABC’s divisive and juvenile war between the sexes, I seriously doubt it. #FirstWorldProblems
