The Risks of Using | Not Using Glyphosate (Roundup)

The Risks of Using | Not Using Glyphosate (Roundup) Herbicides like Roundup (Glyphosate) have helped us feed billions, and some have been linked to cancer and other health problems. Some demand we ban Roundup, but what will happen if we didn't? What will happen if we do? What are the risks?

In this video, I talk with Carmen and Christian from Urban Farm School in Calgary Alberta about why we use Glyphosate and some of the risks we would face if we suddenly stopped using it. While the issues is not cut and dry it is clear that there are some major issues with using it and people are generally not informed about where it is showing up in food which has a lot to do with a general lack of information about how food is grown.

One of the major issues associated with stopping the use of glyphosate would be a massive increase in food costs. Most people don't realize that its use dramatically reduces the cost of food as it allows farmers to spend less time tilling the soil, the alternative technique for killing weeds. If we eradicate this chemical we have to be willing to accept a higher cost of food or alternatively to grow it ourselves. Are there other risks? Are there other solutions? Watch the video to find out!
