Doing The Maths - Reaching People Who Count

Doing The Maths - Reaching People Who Count Many trends continue to rapidly change in our industry. In these interesting socio-economic times where product features are not enough, people buy into something bigger. And no better way to introduce them to a company’s values than through inspiring, challenging and entertaining content they can add to their digital libraries. But how do you measure it?

Ernest North, one of the founders of Naked Insurance and an actuary, hosts a podcast on CliffCentral.com called The Naked Economy. Instead of relying on growth that only comes from heavy spending in a traditional manner (especially common in the insurance industry), Ernest created a podcast series to explore the stories of other entrepreneurs who are finding the illusive balance: being innovative (especially using new technology) while doing things in a transparent way, sincere in how they improve the lives of customers and the broader community.

Given that Ernest is an actuary who specialises in quantifying behaviour (how likely people are to do certain things), to augment the neuro-scientific thinking, CliffCentral commissioned a mathematical model to predict (and quantify) the user behaviour of different profiles of podcast listeners, their likelihood of finishing respective episodes in a podcast series, and how likely they are to refer more listeners.
