Army on Monday flagged off a mountaineering expedition of White Knights Corps comprising of three officers, two junior commissioned officers and fourteen other ranks.
Expedition is led by Major Vikas and was flagged off by Commander 163 Infantry Brigade, Brig. PS Punia from brigade headquarters in Rajouri.
Mountaineering expedition has been sent to mount Chamser Kangri, a peak located at an altitude of 22,000 feet on eastern bank of Tso Moriri lake in the Rupshu region of Eastern Ladakh.
Army said that expedition is in line with the efforts of Indian army to instill a spirit of adventure and camaraderie amongst its personnel.
Army officers present during the flag off ceremony of mountaineering expedition boosted the morale of members of expedition.
