This has serious implications if we injure ourselves when we’re older. Around a quarter of the population over the age of 60 suffer from tears in the rotator cuff, the muscles and tendons which stabilise the shoulder joint and help it move. This condition is often extremely painful and can lead to difficulty doing even basic activities.
