Preventing Entanglements: Cavalry Picket Ropes Part 2

Where do you pack your lariat on your horse? Continuing on our previous video on the lariat and picket pin, this video discusses how to use the lariat and where to secure it on your saddle while packing for heavy marching order.

At 1:31, we used the word "cut" when implying to shorten the rope and bring your horse in closer. To be clear, we do not mean to actually cut the rope, but rather, to "choke up" the rope at the picket pin. It is not advisable to actually cut the lariat as it is commonly needed to high-line horses; needing the full 30' length.
