France 24 International Affairs commentator Douglas Herbert notes that the most recent set of US economic sanctions against Iran announced by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are unlikely to convince Iran to renegotiate a nuclear arms deal: "The official line out of Iran right now is there will be absolutely no talks... until and unless Washington lifts the sanctions that Donald Trump reimposed." On the subject of potential US war with Iran, Herbert adds, "The bully and bluster isn't working, and yes, you can have an accidental conflict."
