Gruesome moment dead farmer’s remains are cut out of a crocodile’s stomach by Indonesian villagers THIS is the gruesome moment a dead farmer’s remains were cut out of a crocodile’s stomach by Indonesian villagers.  The shocking extraction occurred in northwestern Indonesia's Riau Province after a farmer known as Wartoyo went missing.  Locals then began searching for him along the Lakar River in Siak, where he had last been spotted.  They are said to have suspected the animal of having killed the farmer after reportedly finding human body parts strewn along the river bank with a crocodile lying alongside some of Wartoyo's remains.  In the video, the crocodile is tied up and dragged to the village by a group of people.  Its belly us then cut open as residents begin pulling out its contents, including Wartoyo's still intact lower leg and foot.  Head of the District, named in reports as Wahyudi, told local media that the remains found in the crocodile were that of the farmer.  He said that that crocodiles attacking humans in the area is very rare, and suggested the incident could have occurred as "taboos" might have been "violated" by local residents.  Reports state he was suggesting that the crocodile attack was a punishment for locals breaking traditions and values.  Two people were killed in crocodile attacks in Indonesia last year while a Russian tourist was mauled to death by a crocodile in 2016 in the country.
