Anchorage is one of the busiest freight airports in the world and is one of the only airports where you can see aircraft like the DC6, DC9 and C130 still in commercial use. Along with that, older aircraft like the B747, MD11 and DC3s are very commonly seen throughout the day. Further combined with its incredible mountain scenery and fantastic unobstructed close up vantage points, in my opinion, it's the true plane spotters heaven. Featured here are 10 powerful take offs of various aircraft from right up close, be sure to turn your volume up to listen to the grunt of those engines and propellors!
