This video is graphic. But the American people must be educated about the horrific slaughter of American horses, approximately 150,000 in Canada, Mexico and Japan each year. The new US House number for the Bill is HR 961. At the time this video was made, it was HR 1094 as indicated on one of the slides.
HR 961 must have at least 218 co-sponsors in the House of Representative before it can, hopefully and which has NEVER happened to date, move to the Senate for a vote and if passed go to the President for signature.
Horses are being slaughtered for food. Horses are NOT food, they are companion animals, flight animals. They frequently will move their heads when being shot with a captive bolt gun to supposedly render them unconscious. Many are not, pieces of the faces torn off. They are not dead when they are hung up by a chain, hoisted up and have their throats cut to bleed out on the floor. WHO CAN SUPPORT THIS INHUMANE, CRUEL TORTURE? And for what? Horses, like dogs are our companions. It is the irresponsible owners, breeders, pro slaughter groups who perpetuate this horrific practice. Please stand up for the horses. Write or call your US Representative and tell he or she to co-sponsor HR 961. The inhumane transport to and slaughter in countries outside of our borders must end.
