The Best Cheap Chicken Sandwich in The Bay Area || 5 Buck Lunch

The Best Cheap Chicken Sandwich in The Bay Area || 5 Buck Lunch It’s not hard to find innovation and a booming tech scene in The Bay, but a cheap, delicious meal can be quite the challenge. It's even more difficult when narrowing down your search to San Francisco proper. Dining in the home of so many popular apps comes with a hefty price tag. Good, affordable food can be hard to find. A cup of coffee in SF on average is $5. Real estate is sky high. Even the most mediocre $10 meals are slim to none. Lucky for you, it's our job to find you these extremely rare, delicious and affordable eats. That is, after all, why Thrillist is your go-to, be-all and end-all for food recommendations. Join host Nicole Wilhelm as she takes us for the tastiest chicken sandwich in SF for the cheapest lunch our five bucks can buy. We’re going to The Bird, a local spot in the SoMa neighborhood that's serving up the tastiest fried chicken sandwich for $5. You know the rules: We’ve only got $5, so we need to make every penny count... and we’ve definitely got you covered.

Thrillist is bringing back its popular cheap-eats show, but bigger and better than ever with three new hosts. Every week, we’ll explore all the best places to eat (that actually taste good) for under $5, and not a penny more. This season, we’re taking it beyond just New York City and traveling to Washington, DC and the San Francisco Bay Area to show you where to get the best bang for your buck. So if you need a break from the expensive, from the chains, or you’re just looking for new places to try in your city, this is the show for you. Welcome to “5 Buck Lunch.”

Nicole Wilhelm was born, raised, and still lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. A food-obsessor and serial entrepreneur, she works alongside her husband as the co-founder of a multi-million dollar real estate business. Whenever she gets a chance, she still loves to play like she’s a tourist and explore the city’s ever-changing hoods. You may find her in Japantown at Ramen Yamadaya slurping up some of the best ramen in the city or eating cornbread out of a cast-iron skillet at the "little restaurant that could," at the Brown Sugar Kitchen.
